Associate of Occupational Studies in Electronics Engineering Technology

Objective

The objective of this program is to develop students’ academic, social, and technical skills so they can succeed in electronics field engineering and other technical fields. Upon graduation, students will receive the degree Associate of Occupational Studies in Electronics Engineering Technology.

Graduates of this program will qualify for entry-level employment as electronics technicians or field engineers. Careers may be found in many technical industries that use electronics and control systems, such as manufacturing, medical, computer maintenance, communications, and consumer electronics.

Length of Program

The program takes two academic years, consisting of four semesters, each including two 8-week terms. The minimum time to complete the program is 16 months (68 weeks, including breaks). Students must complete a minimum of 70.0 credit hours. The complete program consists of approximately 1222.5 hours, which is comprised of 877.5 hours of theory and 345 hours of laboratory.

Requirements

The requirements to enter into this program are, at a minimum, a high school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate and a passing grade of 70% on the entrance examination.

The on-time graduation rate is defined as the total number of students who completed the Associate of Occupational Studies in Electronics Engineering Technology program in the published minimum time frame of 16 months. Most Missouri Tech students are non-traditional and work while attending college. As such, many of our students are part-time and thus unable to complete within 16 months.
