Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management

Objective

The objective of this program is to develop students’ academic, social, and technical skills so they can succeed as engineering managers able to achieve results in technological enterprises. Upon graduation, students will receive the degree Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management.

Graduates of this program will qualify for employment as entry-level engineering managers. Careers may be found in many technical areas, including manufacturing, project engineering, industrial engineering, packaging engineering, safety engineering, production planning and scheduling, quality engineering, plant engineering, operations management, cost control, sales engineering, and technical marketing.

Length of Program

The program takes four academic years consisting of eight semesters, each including two 8-week terms. The minimum time to complete the program is 32 months (136 weeks, including breaks). Students must complete a minimum of 124 credit hours. The complete program consists of approximately 2137.5 hours, which is comprised of 1582.5 hours of theory and 555 hours of laboratory.

Requirements

The requirements to enter into this program are, at a minimum, a high school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate and a passing grade of 70% on the entrance examination.

On-time Graduation Rate

The on-time graduation rate is defined as the total number of students who completed the Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management program in the published minimum time frame of 32 months. Most Missouri Tech students are non-traditional and work while attending college. As such, many of our students are part-time and thus unable to complete within 32 months.
