Objective
The objective of the program is to train individuals in basic computer hardware and software technology. Upon graduation, students will receive a certificate.
Graduates of the program will qualify for beginning-level help desk or computer technician jobs with any type of company that has an IT department.
Length of Program
The program takes one academic year consisting of two semesters, each including two 8-week terms. The minimum time to complete the program is 8 months (32 weeks, including breaks). Students must complete a minimum of 16.5 credit hours. The complete program consists of approximately 300 hours, which is comprised of 195 hours of theory and 105 hours of laboratory.
Requirements
The requirements to enter into this program are, at a minimum, a high school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate and a passing grade of 70% on the entrance examination.

Most Missouri Tech students are non-traditional and work while attending college. As such, many of our students are part-time and thus unable to complete within 8 months.
