Objective
The objective of this program is to develop students’ academic, social, and technical skills so they can function effectively in programmer analyst, project management, and other related careers. Upon graduation, students will receive the degree Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering.
Graduates of this program will qualify for entry-level employment as practicing engineers. Careers may be found in many technical industries that use software and data systems, such as communications, the Internet, manufacturing, and medical.
Length of Program
The program takes four academic years consisting of eight semesters, each including two 8-week terms. The minimum time to complete the program is 32 months (136 weeks, including breaks). Students must complete the associate’s degree plus a minimum of 66.0 credit hours, for a total of 131.5 credit hours. The complete program consists of approximately 2190 hours, which is comprised of 1755 hours of theory and 435 hours of laboratory.
Requirements
Application is open to people who have earned Missouri Tech’s Associate of Applied Science in Software Engineering degree or the equivalent.
