Bill Henderson
Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering Graduate, 2003
When I started attending Missouri Tech, I found it to be a great fit. The class sizes were small enough to allow accessibility to the professors but big enough for some robust discussions. I really enjoyed the hands-on approach in many of the classes too. Building a microcontroller, setting up and administering a network, writing code for various applications— what an experience!

I enrolled at Missouri Tech in the Network Administration program in November of 2003. Less than two years later, I landed a great job through the school’s placement program. Once I received my Bachelor’s Degree in May 2007, I received a substantial increase in pay.

Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management Graduate, 2004
At MoTech, I had a lot of good teachers, a great education, and was able to expand my knowledge to all sorts of ideas that are important in the business world, aside from just the IT side of the field. In addition, I obtained numerous certifications from Microsoft and CompTia while at MoTech, which helped me get my foot in the door.

Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering Graduate, 2010
Most traditional college Computer Science degrees were heavily based in theory and I wanted a curriculum with a more practical foundation. Missouri Tech’s curriculum fit my criteria. Almost every class taught industry standard practices and used current industry technologies. Many instructors bring their own career experience into the classroom and focus on what it takes to be successful rather than just passing the tests.

I received my Associates in Network Administration and my Bachelor of Science in Network Administration Security from Missouri Tech as well having completed several Microsoft Certifications. Furthermore, the diligence of the Career Planning and Placement Office provided an abundance of career opportunities that complement the skills and education obtained as a student at Missouri Tech.

MoTech has a very flexible schedule that allowed me to complete my Software Engineering Bachelors and Network Administration Associates degrees while also having a full time job. A year into my studies, before I even finished a degree, MoTech helped me get a job as a field technician for an Internet Service Provider to get my foot in the door in the IT field.
