in Information Technology (BSIT)


Objective
The objective of this program is to provide students with a combination of knowledge, hands-on experience, and application of theory to information issues. The program keeps pace with changing technology and related business practices by offering courses in areas such as systems analysis, Web applications, several programming languages, and graphical user interface design. The curriculum emphasizes quantitative and communications skills as well as providing a foundation in business environments. Upon graduation, students will receive the degree Bachelor of Science in Information Technology.

Graduates of this program will qualify for employment as entry-level computer software applications engineers, computer and information systems managers, computer systems analysts, network systems professionals and computer systems software engineers.

Requirements
Application is open to people who have earned Missouri Tech’s Associate of Applied Science in Information Technology degree or the equivalent.

Class Schedule
Mon-Thu 8:00 a.m. to 1:50 p.m.
or
Mon-Thu 5:00 p.m. to 10:50 p.m.

Lab Hours
Mon-Thu 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Length of Course
The program takes four academic years consisting of eight semesters, each including two 8-week terms. The minimum time to complete the program is 32 months (136 weeks, including breaks). Students must complete the associate’s degree plus a minimum of 55.0 credit hours, for a total of 123 credit hours. Lab time for the complete four-year program is approximately 480 hours; theory time, 1605 hours.
