Missouri Tech is a small, private, career college located in St. Louis. We have enjoyed over 70 years of success in preparing students for careers in technology. Our curriculum includes 2 and 4 year degrees in Network Administration, Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology and Engineering Management.

Title: Instructor


Job Type: Faculty / Instruction position


Job Description:

  • Teach General Education Courses in the following areas:
    • English, Philosophy, Economics, and Mathematics
    • Business related areas such as Accounting, Finance, and Management
  • Write syllabi, prepare training materials, develop lesson plans, and perform classroom instruction
  • Grade students' work, tests, and exams
  • Motivate students to excel academically
  • Engage in professional development in accordance with Missouri Tech's standards
  • Maintain an up to date portfolio in subject area, and recommend improvement in training processes and curriculum design
  • Get involved in core academic support programs, certification programs, and professional associations
  • Teaching Opportunities available for both morning and evening hours

Qualification:

  • A Master’s Degree is required
  • At least 15 credit hours of coursework (undergraduate or graduate) in the field of study. For instance, to qualify as an economics instructor, 15 credit hours in economics would be required at either the undergraduate or graduate level. The Master's degree does not need to be in the field of study.
  • Prior teaching experience is a plus but not required

  • Grade students' work, tests, and exams
  • Motivate students to excel academically
  • Engage in professional development in accordance with Missouri Tech's standards
  • Maintain an up to date portfolio in subject area, and recommend improvement in training processes and curriculum design
  • Get involved in core academic support programs, certification programs, and professional associations
  • Must be able to teach both morning and evening hours

Qualification:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience teaching or administering Linux / Unix
  • At least one (1) Linux / Unix certification is required; Microsoft certification a plus
  • Experience or education in Windows and Linux based server-client environments, network administration, network architecture, routers and switches
  • Individuals with certifications such as Linux+, MCSE, MCT, A+ are preferred
  • Must have at least a bachelor's degree in an Information Technology related field
  • Candidate with Master degree will be given preference
